Chapter 465  No one answered ham in the ro  Jackson spun around and headed straight to his room instead. He then entered Serenity’s room through the inner door that connected the two rooms.  Serenity’s room was dark, and the lights were off. Jackson glanced around in the semi–darkness, relying on the faint sunlight shining through the curtains. Although dim, it did not affect his vision.  Jackson soon found Serenity in the corner of the room, sitting curled up. She had wrapped her arms around her knees and buried her face in it. She seemed like she was trying to curl into a ball.  Jackson vaguely remembered seving her hiding in a corner with a similar posture some time ago. At the thought of this, a sudden pain stabbed at him, just below his heart. The scenario from the video he had seen just moments before flashed across  his mind.  In the video, Serenity had gotten slapped in the face and then escorted out of the mall. The video had been recorded from a distance, too far away to hear the conversation Even so, Jackson could more or less guess what the Hall family would have said to her.  Jackson’s eyes flashed with anger. His anger was mostly directed at the Hall family and at himself. He should have warned the Hall family earlier. They should not have attacked her! She did not have to endure such humiliation.  Serenity. Jackson crouched down slowly and called her name softly. Serenity remained in the same position, motionless, as if frozen in time.  “Serenity…” Jackson raised his voice slightly. “I’ll be by your side no matter what.”  Serenity trembled slightly. Her shoulders moved, and she looked up slowly. Her face was pale, her eyes red and swollen.  Jackson could see the obvious marks on her pink lips. He could only imagine how hard she had bitten her own lips.  “Were you crying?” Jackson asked, his finger gently tracing her red eyes.  Serenity stiffened slightly. Then, she tried her best to manage a smile. “L. I wasn’t mying 1-1 was just tired and resting by the  wall”  Jackson held his gaze on Serenity. He wondered if she realized what a terrible liar she was. She somehow managed a smile, but the cut on her lips made that motion sting Boe bell  “I know everything,” Jackson lushed. He wanted to see her happy smile, not this. The forced smile on her face broke his heart even more. “You don’t have to force yourself to smile like that,” Jackson said, picking her up in his arms.  Jackson took her to the couch and sat her down. He then carefully observed her limbs and exposed skin. He did not see any other injuries except for the bruises on her face.  Serenity was still stunned at his words earlier. He knows everything.” What did he mean by that?  Slaskud, “What do you know?  “I know what happened earlier,” Jackson explained. “Someone took a vicen of the scene and posted it online,”  Sermity stiffened and bit down on her lower lip  Serenity had made up her mind to get over the humiliation and stop thildegg about it. However, someone had filmed the incident earlier and pasted the video online. The feeling of humiliation seemed to multiply, overwhelming her.  What had she cone to deserve this? She had done nothing wrong! Why did she have to suffer needlessly?! 

Chapter 464  Jackson’s how furrowed as soon as he heard the news. He took the phone from Connor and played the video, liis eyes cold.  Jackson soon exuded an air of quiet fury, Connor knew that his boss‘ anger was not directed at him, but the fury in Jackson’s eyes was so icy that he thought he might freeze to death,  Mr. Valer’s wrath could rock the whole of Solaria, Serenity was Mr. Valor’s precious person, and he would never let anyone hurt Serenity. The Hall family had made their move on Ms. Lewis, humiliating her in public. Not only that but there was a video filmed and posted online.  “Remove this viden from the internet! Don’t let the see it online ever again!” Jackson ordered. “Also, find the person who took the video and get the original file deleted permanently.”  “Understood.” Cenaar responded.  Jackson threw the phone back at Connor. Then, he grabbed his jacket and beaded out of his office.  Connor did not have to ask. He knew Mr. Valor was on his way to see Ms. Lewis.  Connor had been working with Mr. Valor for years, and Serenity seemed to be the only person who could affect Mr. Valor this much. Fate would always intervene in such a strange way. Who would have thought that Mr. Valor would fall for Serenity?  The Hall family would never have thought of this. They probably would not have hurt Serenity if they had known,‘ Connor thought to himself.  Jackson drove away from the office. As he was on the way home, he dialed Serenity’s phone number. However, no one answered, and it made him even more andous. He then called the butler in the Valor Residence and asked about Serenity,  “Ms. Lewis went out in the morning and returned around noon, but she didn’t have lunch and went straight to her room. She hasn’t come out since,” Elliot, the butler, answered  “Make sure to keep an eye on her!” Jackson hastily ordered and ended the call. Then, he sped up and rushed home.  When he arrived at Valor Residence, he dashed out of the car and ran to Serenity’s room, startling the servants around.  The servants had never seen Mr. Valor in such a hurry! He seemed worried about something, but what could possibly worry Mr. Valor, the most powerful man in Solaria?  Elliot was standing in front of Serenity’s room, guarding her. When he saw Jackson, he reported, “Sir, Ms. Lewis is in her room. I knocked, but she wouldn’t open the door. The door was locked from the inside.”  As the butler, Elliot had the log to the door. However, he would not use it unless permitted. He dared not open Ms. Lewis‘ bedroom door without Jackson’s order.  Jackson dismissed Elliot with a wave of the hand. “You may leave now.”  “The key to the room..”  “It’s fine,” Jackson said.  Elliot then left, and Jackson lifted his hand as he gently knocked on the door. “Sereally, it’s me.” 

Demetria was confused and finally noticed the grave look on Jenny’s face.  “Jenny? What nonsense are you talking about? Apologize? Are you telling me to apologize to Serenity? That’s impossible! She’s lucky I didn’t smash her in the face! Why do you want me to apologize?!”  “You two must apologize now before it’s too late!”  Jenny took out her phone, but her mother took the phone away before she could ring her father.  “What the hell is going on? Let’s get this straight.” Demetria’s eyes locked on Jenny.  Jenny took a deep breath. “Mom, Serenity has Jackson’s support. We can’t afford to mess with the Valor family!  Demetria’s expression changed from confusion to a look that was full of shock. “How can that be? Are you ladding me?!*  “I wish I was kidding, but it’s true!” Jenny rasped. “Remember Joy Show? Didn’t you ask about her leg before? Why Joy healed for so long and how she got hurt?”  hadn’t  Demetria’s nerves tingled at the grave look on Jenny’s face. She had a feeling that the answer was not what she wanted to hear. Even so, she still had to listen  “Jackson had someone do it. Joy had hurt Serenity before, so Jackson helped Serenity return the favor. No. Rather, he made Joy pay back ten times more for hurting her!”  Demeina froze in place, dumbfounded. Her knees felt dangerously weak as Jenny mentioned Jackson’s name, and she nearly  fell  Jackson Valor… Does Serenity have Jackson’s support?! But Jackson almost became my son–in–law before! Demetria thought.  Demetria was once very proud of this. Surely everyone in Solaria would flatter her because of her status as Jackson’s mother–in  -LAW  Demetria had had the best time when Mira had become Jackson’s fiancee, but it was short–lived. Her eldest daughter had been engaged to Jackson, and she had almost become Jackson’s mother–in–law, but Mira’s death hat crushed her hopes.  “How could Jackson take Serenity’s side?! Doesn’t he understand? Serenity is the one who got Mira killed!” Demetria suddenly yelled frantically.  Jenny hurriedly grabbed her mother. He knows, but he’s got his eyes on Serenity. He likes her. Mom, calm down. Even if you don’t like it, we can’t interfere with Jackson’s choice!”  Demetria understood this. She just could not keep her hatred restrained.  ny did not have time to comfort her mother. Her first priority was to resche the situation before it was too late. Jackson might turn against the Hall family for this.  Jenny took the phone away from her mother and quicldly called her father.  Meshile, on the other side, Connor rushed into the CEO’s office upon finding out what had happened. “Mr. Valor, there’s a video online about Ms. Lewis… Would you like to ser lì?‘  Connor bestcated a little while saying this, worried about his boss‘ reaction upon seeing the video. As Jackson’s personal secretary, Connor knew of Serenity’s importance in Jackson’s heart.  The actions of the Hall family had undoubtedly hurt Mr. Valor’s precious sweetheart.

Chapter 459  “I wanted to know how bitter it is,” Jacksor: explained, examining the taste of the bitter liquid medicine in his mouth. “It’s so bitter.”  Serenity felt speechless. Who in the world would take the medicine itself to find out how hitter it was?! Not to mention, the medicine was meant for women’s health.  Such a small amount of residue would not cause a bad tummy, but. Jackson seemed a little too reckless  “Why don’t you have a candy too? It’ll help with the bitterness,” Serenity spoke with a piece of candy still in her mouth.  “Okay,” Jackson lumined instead of taking the candy from the tray, be leaned toward her and put one hand against the back of her led, his handsome face close to hers.  “Jack.” As her lips parted, his kiss landed on her lips.  Jackson captured her mouth in an intense diss, stealing bittersweet tastes from her lips, leaving Serenity breathless. Serenity could barely tell what flavor remained in her mouth when the kiss ended, and she looked at him with flushed cheeks. His big hand remained on the back of her head, forcing her eyes to stay on his  Jackson’s beautiful eyes locked gazes with hers. “Hmm. It’s sweet,” he murmured softly, his words stirring up her emotions. His eyes seemed to glitter with desire for her.  Serenity was under his spell for the moment, her heart a total mess.  Serenity spoke to Emily on the phone, and after setting an appointment to meet her, she ligured that she would bry something for Emily  Emily had been released from the hospital because according to her, staying in the hospital would not be much help. She would rather save some money and take a good rest at home.  Serenity knew Emily was concerned about spending too much money on her hospitalization. Staying at the hospital would be better for Fily’s health, mainly because of the use of medication and mursing care, but. Uncle Fraxis, Uncle Desmond, and Aunt Theresa would likely be upset.  Could Emily really get better care at home?  Serenity spoke to the doctor regarding Emily’s condition. Emily needed long–term recuperation.  ‘Anyway, let’s see what happens when we see Emily Serenity thought.  By the time Serenity woke up, Jackson had left for work. However, she found a bank card on the nightstand along with a note that had a message that said, “Take this with you. If you need anything, use it.”  The clear and crisp handwriting was a visual pleasure to look at.  The old Serenity would have probably refused Jackson’s bank card and returned it to Jackson, but her thinking had changed.  Serenity was in a different frame of ented. She would take the card, nut because of the money in the card, but because she knew it was has concem for her.  A strong woman should be independent and refrain from relying on others, but. Serenity felt thred. Sometimes, deep down in her heart, she hoped she had someone she could rely on.  “Hut Jack is different. I can rely on him,” she said to herself in her mind.  After breakfast, Serenity took her medications. She planned to do some shopping for Emilly’s visit first.  “Ms. Lewis, where are you going? I’ll have the chauffeur take you, the butler, Elliot, suggested.  “It’s fine, I’ll take the bus myself,” Serenity rejected him, not wanting to bother the driver.  “Please let the chauffeur do it, otherwise, Mr. Valor will punish me for not taking care of you,” Elliot said, almost pleading  . 

Chapter 458  ‘Forget it! Fine! I owe it to him!‘ Lisa thought to herself.  1/1  When Serenity and Jackson returned to the Valor Residence, Jackson asked, “Feeling disappointed today? We made a trip to San Marco and found nothing useful.”  Serenity shook her head. “I’m fine.”  ‘You’re not disappointed?” Jackson seemed a little surprised.  “Because you’re willing to help in my journey to prove my innocence,” Serenity said, feeling grateful. “It doesn’t matter if we find useful clues or not. I’m just happy with your help.”  She felt his trust in her, and the barriers between them seemed to be slowly fading  He gazed at her steadily. He understood her desire to clear her name, but. He could clear her name but not give her the truth -the truth she wanted to know,  “As long as you’re happy” His lips curled into a smile. He changed the subject and asked, “You don’t have to go to work for the next few days. What are your plans?”  “I thought about visiting Grandma in two days, Serenity mentioned. She had been so busy with work and unable to check up on Emily in person. She could only occasionally speak to Emily on the phone. Considering the rare holiday, she would like to visit Emily.  “Alright. I’ll go with you when you do,” Jackson stated.  “What? You’re coming to visit my grandmother too? Serenity was surprised.  “She’s your grandmother. Naturally, I’d like to visit her too,” Jackson said.  For some reason, his simple words made Serenity swell up with emotions. She wrinkled her nose and agreed, “Alright. Let’s go together.”  In the evening, the hospital delivered some medicine for women’s health. It was meant to help Serenity improve her uterus health  Serenity looked at the medicine with a touch of sadness. She had thought that she was infertile and could not have children  had taken her to the medical checkup. This medicine seemed to give her some hope.  In the evening, about 20 minutes after dinner. Jackson had the maid bring over the liquid medicine as well as a tray of candies and chocolates along with it.  “It may be a little bitter. Take some candies or chocolate later to lessen the bitterness in your mouth,” Jackson reminded.  “Yeah,” Serenity responded. She suddenly realized that Jackson was so incredibly attentive, more so than anyone else.  Serenity took the medicine all in one gulp, and her brows furrowed. It was just as he had said. It was so hitter! She then quickly picked up a piece of candy and popped it into her mouth, dulling the bitterness in her mouth.  “Is it very bitter?” Jackson asked  Serenity nodded. Then, she watched as he picked up her medical ion cup. Before she had a chance to ask him what he was doing, be tilted it upward and drank the remaining liquid medicine left in the cup  Serenity jumped in shock “Why did you drink It?” 

Chapter 457  Terry noticed Lisa’s sparkling eyes, and for some reason, he felt annoyed again.  When they returned to Solaria, they headed to the Valor Residence first. Terry moved to the driver’s seat once Jackson and Serenity had left the car.  Serenity! I’ll see you next time,” Lisa waved goodbye to Serenity  “Okay,” Serenity responded “Thanks for today and take care!” After that, she walked through the gates of the Valor Residence with Jackson.  Lisa’s eyes remained glued on Jackson and Serenity. Soon, Terry’s impatient voice rang in her ear. “Are you done yet?  “I’m just staring. What’s wrong?” Lisa grumbled. Lisa did not think of Jackson as a homeless guy when she had first met Jackson in Serenity’s rented place. Who would have thought? Jackson actually turned out to be an all–powerful bigshot in  Solaria!  While Lisa was lost in her thoughts, Terry cupped her cheeks and turned her head to look at him. “What? You said you loved my face two days ago. Why are you looking at Jackson now? Are you interested in him?”  Lisa almost choked on Terry’s words. What was he saying? How could he accuse her of liking Jackson?!  Lisa was just admining the fact that Serenity was actually dating Jackson. Even so, given her current relationship with Terry, she could not afford to push his buttons and piss him off.  With that in mind, Lisa answered with a sheepish grin, “How can that be? Why would I be interested in him? I’m just….. Uh………. I’m happy for Serenity”  “Really?” Terry inched closer, his face close to her. He seemed really keen to know her true thoughts.  “Really!” Lisa hastily assured him. She stared up at him with her innocent doe eyes.  “That would be for the best. Don’t forget who you’re dating,” Terry reminded in a waring tone and a hint of helplessness i his gaze.  ‘I didn’t forget“‘ Lisa thought and rolled her eyes. Her status as his girlfriend was like a curse, reminding her that this was only a game to pay back her debt. The time when she fell in love would be the time for his revenge.  But… Looking at this handsome face close at hand, Lisa had to admit that Terry was indeed stunning and pleasing to the eye! She would have fallen for him in a real relationship with  “I won’t forget who I’m dating. I’m your girlfriend,” Lisa said cheekily. “Belax. I swear I won’t be interested in anyone else before falling in love with you.”  Lisa emphasized the word love. Terry would have his revenge the moment she fell in love with him, anyway. It was the only  way to settle the score.  Terry glared at Lisa. He was the one who had set the rules of the games at the beginning. He seemed to squins in a way he would not quite understand bearing what she had said.  She claimed that she would not be interested in anyone else before falling in love with him. Did she mean that she would fall in love with someone else after him?  The thought of this left a sour taste in his heart.  “Lisa Quest. Don’t you dare to fall in love with anyone else,” Terry warned with a glare.  Lisa’s first instinct was to retort, but she rubbed her nose and shut her mouth after meeting his threatening gaze. 

Chapter 456  Serenity understood Lisa’s concerns “It’s fine. I’ll find out the truth eventually. I’ll give Mira justice and clear my narne!” Serenity spoke with determination and then asked in reply. “Let’s stop talking about me. What about you? How are you with Terry?”  “What else can I do? Just let it be.” Lisa shnigerd. “Anyway, we seem like a couple in a normal relationship.”  Lisa’s relationship with Terry seemed very normal, which often put Lisa in doubt. She wondered if she was seriously dating Terry and would fall for him. Lisa kept reminding herself that it was not real. Her relationship was just a game, and Terry would have his revenge once she fell in love with him.  “I feel that it’s not what you think. Terry probably isn’t seeking revenge,” Serenity suggested. A man like Terry had plenty of options to get his revenge. There was no reason for him to pick such a lengthy and time–consuming method to get back at  Lisa  “I also hope it’s not what I imagined.” Lisa pouted in disagreement.  Serenity knew Lisa probably still thought that Terry was out for revenge, but she did not know Terry well enough to say anything else, so she stopped asking  Lisa would just have to go through some things to understand. Even so, Serenity did not want Lisa to be hurt.  The two then left the restroom and returned to the private room. When Lisa and Serenity opened the door, they saw that Terry had propped one hand on the table and the other on the back of Jackson’s chair. He was leaning forward slightly as talking to Jackson. Their eyes were almost level, and their faces were dangerously close to each other.  Both Serenity and Lisa were stunned to see this. Lisa drew an exaggerated sharp breath.  “W–What are you two doing?” Lisa found the scene as beautiful as a painting. She could imagine all sorts of roses floating around the two men, just like she had seen in comics.  Terry’s face darkened. Just by the look on Lisa’s face, he could guess the nonsensical thoughts running through her mind.  “It’s nothing” Terry straightened up and stumped back into his seat.  “Yeah, it’s nothing.” Jackson had a small smile. “Mr. White and I were just having a little chat.”  A little chat? Did they have to speak at such a close distance and posture? Lisa wondered suspiciously. Even Serenity was puzzled.  “Alright. We’re done with lunch. Let’s get moving. If we leave now, we’ll reach Solaria by evening,” Jackson said and rose to  his feet  When they were paying the bill, Jackson was one step ahead and settled the bill with his phone.  “I’ll lost a meal next time, Let’s get together again when we have time,” Terry suggested, his tone meaningful..  Jackson responded, “Sure.”  The group of four walked out of the restaurant, On the way back, Jackson drove,  Jackson drove orcasionally, and his cars were all luxurious. It was the first time he had driven a cheap, tiny car like Lisa’s.  Lisa had inbøxed feelings as she watched Jackson drive her tiny car. Who would have thought that someone like Jackson would actually drive her car?  Chapter 457
